About

Avet Asatour (May 19th, 1942 – November 4th, 1972) is an artist whose work was rarely displayed at public venues. His posthumous solo exhibition was previewed on January 6th, 1974 in House of Architects. More than 40 canvases and 100 artworks were presented to the public review. Some local magazines had published articles after the exhibition.

In 1979 (?), the Armenian State Gallery organized a show featuring local artists of Armenia. Some of Avet’s works were included in the exhibition, which were then acquired by the Gallery as part of the permanent collection.

He graduated from the State Academy of Fine Arts of Armenia in 1967.

In 1970, Avet participated in a residency workshop organized in Senezh, on the outskirts of Moscow. During the workshop, he experimented with various techniques, including lithography on stone and copper plates.
